Before purchasing a product, I do extensive research and go down the rabbit hole. For your convenience, below are some of my favorite products.

Dishes

After replacing my dishwasher with a top-of-the-line option, I was disappointed to find that my dishes and glassware still felt chalky. Since the water source is city water, I could not blame hard well water. Therefore, I concluded that the dishwasher detergent was the source of the problem. After testing multiple brands, I found that whenever I used a detergent with a powder, it always left a chalky residue. Determined to find the ultimate detergent, I converged exclusively on liquid gel packs. Although better candidates may be out there, the Finish Gelpacs solved my problem and I highly recommend them.

Lighting

The Hue Phillips lighting ecosystem is the best overall option. For me, the primary selling points are:

1) Wifi / Bluetooth Redundancy. If you have ever used Wi-Fi-only lighting systems, you can appreciate the frustration of being unable to control your lights whenever there is an issue with the Wi-Fi. Although Hue Phillips’ closest competitor, Govee Lights, is cheaper, the lack of Bluetooth is a dealbreaker.

2) Software Color Control. Although other LED downlights allow you to adjust the color temperature, you generally must manually remove the downlight to adjust a physical switch. This is impractical. In contrast, the Philips Hue Slim Downlight with the color light option gives you access to the entire color spectrum so you can instantly adjust your environment with a click of a button. More importantly, this characteristic allows you to program lighting sequences based on the time of day.
